Details
On August 17, 1959 at 11:37 PM one of the largest earthquakes ever recorded in the United States took place in Southwest Montana, just west of Yellowstone National Park. Registering 7.5 on the Richter Scale and felt over an area of 600,000 square miles, the Hebgen Lake Earthquake caused the surrounding 175 square miles of land to drop as much as 22 feet and triggered a massive landslide that dammed the Madison River, resulting in the creation of Earthquake Lake. This product is manufactured in the USA from lead-free pewter. Visit Yellowstone Forever's Forest Service Store at the Earthquake Lake Visitor Center!
